The 2009 Bringin' it Home Release Party and Hog RoastDec 17, 2009

Elk season ended just in time for me to come back and have a great time at our Bringiní It Home DVD Release Party!  I shut the shop down for two days to prepare for the biggest hog roast weíve ever had here at Hazel Creek. The idea behind the party was to invite all my long time customers, good friends, and new friends Iíve made as Iíve hunted and filmed all over the country.

Several volunteers came out to help put get the party rolling. We butchered three hogs, cut up a ton of potatoes, and had more food than we could eat for a month, but it was all well worth it!

One of the main attractions for our party was country singer, Paul Bogart.  We first saw him in concert at the QDMA National Convention in Louisville Kentucky.  We all enjoyed his music so much that we decided to invite him up to put on a back woods concert.  He put on a small show around the bon fire on Friday night, and did an awesome job the next night in spite of some very cold weather. He sang over two hours in temperatures that had to have been in the 30ís! He was so good though, that everyone stayed glued to the stage.

We invited the boys from Rack Focus Post Production to come down for the party and help film the event.  I think they were excited to get out of the studio to come down and enjoy some genuine country fun.  Jason used the fig rig to roam around and film the crowd as they mingled around the food and bonfire while Preston snapped some really great pictures.  Jesse filmed people come in the driveway and Al filmed my nieces as they interviewed our guests.  I hope they didnít let the camera know too many secrets about me.

We had two hayrides on Saturday night before the concert, and even though it was cold, I think people still had a good time.  Paul Bogart, and his dobro player Jonathan Tarlton helped out by hopping on the hay wagon and singing for the whole ride.

We also had several games for the kids to play, including a balloon game that was hilarious to watch.  My niece and nephew looked like Michelin mascots after they had over twenty balloons stuffed around each of them.

As the concert ended on Saturday night, and people started to head home, I realized that we threw a very successful party.  It was really exciting to announce the release of the DVD, and it was nice to have everyone here to help celebrate.  Several years have been invested to get this project off the ground, and so far, everyone who watches it seems to love it.
